I was so looking forward to this live performance by Pankaj Udhas, as we had been to his concert nearly 5 years ago. What should have been a wonderful evening at the Lalit Ashok turned out to be a disaster, with too large an audience and noisy gate crashers who ended up spoiling the party. Ranga and I left . Call us snobs, if you like, but I like my ambience and silence when I listen to ghazals...so, we left, went home, created a beautiful ambience with soft lights, reclined with our personal choice of poison and and listened to ghazals in an atmosphere of serenity and silence and the company as usual was exemplary:), the two of us had a lovely, romantic, quiet evening at home, which was both relaxing and wonderful. If you like ghazals and Pankaj Udhas, please go ahead and buy "Intezaar - e - Saba", an album with a difference and some wonderfully mellifluous songs.
We will miss Shiv Kumar Sharma's Santoor program tomorrow as we have Pradeep's 25th wedding anniversary party to attend. This really has been one socially and culturally hectic week and there seems to be another equally busy week coming up!
