Visit to a Slice of Old Bangalore

A Wedding was reason enough - I wanted to visit this iconic Church in the bustling CBD of Bangalore. Once you drive in the calm and quiet envelop you in a shroud which instantly brings peace...I am talking of St.Patrick's church, a stone's throw from Brigade Road, behind Catholic Club.

It was a beautiful nostalgic trip back to childhood and the morning mass we used to attend in our school chapel...16 years of studying in Jesuit institutions leaves a lasting impression.

The church is beautiful. The foundation for St. Patrick's church was laid in July 1841, and the church itself was built and completed in the next 3½ years, by the end of 1844. The church was dedicated to the honour of the blessed Trinity, under the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Archangel Michael but even before it was completed, it came to be known as St. Patrick's. The church was further remounted in 2000 AD.

After the wedding mass we decided to skip the lunch at the wedding and went to another historic old bastion the Woodland hotel for a simple lunch.

The winter sun, the trip down memory lane sort of gave a golden glow of feeling good...love morning - 28/12/2013.
