Mighty Muscular Scorpio

The "Mighty Muscular Scorpio" Comes Home!

Its something to do with October - the Dussehra week, for some reason we get the itch to go car shopping...now what is the connection...no clue! But it happened this year too...but thanks to our China trip soon after, the itch had to wait to be scratched! Well, we returned and the itch was back too. We went shopping for SUVs as we felt that what started of as a venture-when-you-have-time hobby of offroading had now grown into a serious passion and we were enjoying our sojourns too much and we felt we needed a bigger, sturdier mean machine which was high on technology and also would not eat into our wallet in terms of fuel consumption. Esp when the current joke(?!!) doing the rounds is - "which will be first? - Sachin's 100th ton or petrol touching Rs.100 to a litre?" Well my money is on the latter, at least as of now...and not wanting to contribute depleting our financial reserves indulging in our passion and Toshu finding it difficult to fold in his 6'1" frame into the rear seat of the Santro, and Ranga on his travel high (how many more reasons does one need?...smile....) that prompted us to try this "Mighty Muscular Scorpio"...well, it was love at first sight, so to speak...my heart did long for the XUV 500 but the delivery date of nearly a year or so, decided the matter. Ek saal ke baad kisse maloom kya hoga? We did some research on the other SUVs and decided on this machine, which is comfortable yet luxurious, it is creature comfort at an all new level. Comparisons with other cars, myth busting facts and user-reviews, tales of 4X4 adventure and much more are all packed in to the Scorpio and we were sold on the idea.

Technically speaking the 2.2 litre, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine is what makes the Scorpio the powerhouse that it is. It propels the new Scorpio from 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds flat. Acceleration is effortless. And with a whopping 120 bhp of power at your disposal, out-muscling other cars is no problem. It incorporates the Micro Hybrid Technology - This technology enables the engine to intelligently switch into standby when not in use. So while it helps conserve nature, it conserves fuel too.
Switches off the engine when the Scorpio idles for a preset duration
Switches the engine back on, the instant your leg touches the clutch pedal
Burns less fuel, thus reducing pollution and conserving the environment.

Its Voice Assist System, ABS, safety features etc. make it a safe yet dream drive. It is a macho machine which gives Ranga a testosterone high and me feeling feminine and well looked after by my man - trust me, it does feel super and let me tell everyone whoever has the slightest doubt "Size Does Matter!!!".

Brought our Scorpio home yesterday on Nov 14th 2011, got it dressed up in auto decal, parking assist and a few other gizmos and also immediately finalised a roadtrip for the end of the month...looking forward to years of safe and pleasureable motoring!!
